The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
The painting was inspired by a spiral staircase, but when I started to paint it on canvas, I took it in a very different direction. The feeling as the image evolved were that of creation, origins and such. When I dug deeper, I found the term "Alcheringa" which means "Dreamtime" to Indigenous Australians, also known as Alchera.
In the animist framework of Australian Aboriginal mythology, The Dreaming or Altjeringa (also spelt Alcheringa) is a sacred era in which ancestral Totemic Spirit Beings formed The Creation.
